Our Story

Hi! I’m Jonathan, engineer and father of three, on a mission to reinvent ice cream.

 

I’ve always loved ice cream - who doesn’t? But as time went along, I became increasingly aware of how different foods made me feel. And while ice cream was great in the moment, afterwards it left me feeling heavy and sluggish.

 

With two young daughters and another on the way, I knew I had to give them - and myself - a better option. So I did what any engineer would do: I started experimenting.

 

Dozens of home experiments later, Golden Hive was born. We use honey instead of refined sugars, real food ingredients instead of gums and stabilizers, and superfoods that actually give you a boost.

 

The result? An ice cream that tastes amazing, made with ingredients so good that I would give it to my daughters for breakfast (and I do!).

Meet the Team

Anna, Co-founder

I like to tell people I met a stranger on the internet and decided to become his co-founder. I met Jonathan through Slack and saw Golden Hive as an opportunity to eat more ice cream (mostly kidding). After nearly a decade in corporate America, I was ready to scratch the entrepreneurial itch, and was excited about what Jonathan was building. 

 

I love a sweet treat, but I also care about what I'm putting into my body. Golden Hive is ice cream I can genuinely feel good about eating, and most importantly, it’s delicious! With a background in consulting, bizops, and CPG category management, I’m excited to grow what started in Jonathan's kitchen into something we can share with more people.
